Fatma’s

Located in Treme, I was first turned on to this place by my roommate’s boyfriend who lives in the French Quarter. He raved about the atmosphere and the coffee — it wasn’t until my mentor asked me to meet at the coffee shop that I finally went. AND IT WAS EXCELLENT (both the meeting and the food).

Excellent wifi, amazing food — everything is homemade by the owners, quaint and charming, this is the place to go if you want to be outdoors but indoors.

Things to get: the Turkish Coffee (espresso on steroids) that comes with a cup of water and a Turkish Delight, any of the cakes or pastries, and really…anything on the menu.

This place is the place to be. It will be part of the itinerary for visiting friends.
